1 The aims of emergency care are identified and explained in terms of ethics and scope of practice.
2 Universal precautions taken during treatment of sick and injured are explained and demonstrated.
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE
Universal precautions include but are not limited to: • Personal protective equipment; management of body fluid spills or excreta and uncontained hazardous materials.
3 The specific medico-legal implications in emergencies are described in terms of current relevant legislation.
